Newcastle FC emerged champions of the Super Warriors FC League in style after decimating White Angela FC 4-1 at Nkpor in Anambra State on Sunday.
The Super Warriors FC, a street football tournament sponsored by Lumos Lab reached its crescendo on Sunday as football lovers in and around the Nkpor community watched the finals with delight.
In a bid to quell restiveness and hooliganism at the grassroots, Lumos Laboratories have sponsored the tournament for the third consecutive year since its inception.
Mr. Ejikeme Patrick, Director of Lumos Labs expressed joy over the number of youths who participated in the 2022 edition of the tournament and applauded the youths in the community for cooperating with the organizers of the tournament.
“I am really happy about the progress of this tournament and the numbers of youths that came out to partake in it,” he said.
“This tournament has no political undertone but is meant to bring the people, especially the youth, together. We also believe that the future stars of football in the nation can come out from this tournament”
“Everybody has a chance to be great. Not everyone will be a medical doctor, a scientist, a teacher or an engineer. This tournament is providing an opportunity for that young talent who believes he can be great from playing football! He concluded.
